A number of cristallin or thin film photovoltaic cells together encased and stainless packed into larger units are named solar modules. As packaging material for the front side mainly glass and in some cases plastic foil are usually used. For the back side plastic foils are mainly used, but glasses are also in some casesused . The photovoltaic cells are imbedded in between in a transparent material, which holds together the module as an entity.
