The Association to Promote Environment Friendly Electricity (VUE) monitors the evolution and overall use of this Swiss quality seal of approval for the certification of ecological and renewable energy products. The VUE is responsible for the "naturemade" quality seal and it enjoys support on a uniquely broad scale. The association's advisory board consists of representatives from environmental organizations, consumer organizations, renewable energy associations, water resource supply and distribution management, electrical power producers and distributors, as well as bulk power users.
The "naturemade" seal of approval recognizes two distinct qualities of electric power: "naturemade basic" stands for electricity from renewable sources. "naturemade star" is a designation reserved for green power whose superior ecological status is founded on the fulfilment of several highly exacting criteria.
