Project Promotion

The project promotion in the photovoltaic programme occurs, depending on the project orientation according to the wide programme basis, through various available instruments of promotion. These are dependent on the competences of the various offices. The research and development projects, as well as the pilot and demonstration installations are under the overall control of the federal government. With these pilot and demonstration installations, assistance from the cantons and/or the communities is especially desirable.

The federal government can no longer directly promote photovoltaics installations due to the current energy laws; the promotion occurs by means of global contributions to the cantons, which determine their own main focus points, independently. Concerning promotion, the competence of the federal government only involves indirect promotion.
