| Concept
of the Photovoltaic Programme |
| |
 |
| |
|
The photovoltaics
concept has already been established for 4 years and is based on the
energy research concept of the Federal Energy Research Commission
CORE. It is authorized by this commission as the implementation plan of
the programme.
|
| |
 |
| |
|
In summary, these
are the underlying objectives for the photovoltaic programme:·
- Lowering the costs
of solar cells and modules
- Cost target for 2011: module 3 CHF/Wp, systems 5 CHF/Wp
- Increasing efficiency (solar cells)
- Lowering material and energy input
- Simplification and standardisation of electrical system technology
- Increasing the service life and reliability of inverters
- Increase of availability and variety of industrial products
|
| |
 |
| |
The
photovoltaic programme's goals are fixed for specific technical areas:
Quantitative objective
for 2011:
- Module 3 CHF/Wp
- System 5 CHF/Wp

Objectives
in the area of solar cells:
- Industrial Manufacturing
of solar cells and modules on the basis of thin film technologies with
the goal of competitive manufacturing processes and products (cells,
modules)
- Mid to long-term
material options for future solar cells (e.g. organic and polymer solar
cells) with the goal to increase international cooperation in Europe
- Manufacturing processes
for thin silicon wafers with the goal of a wafer thickness below 150
µm
|
|
Objectives in the area of the modules and building integration:
- Real integration
of thin film solar cells in new products for building integration with
the goal to industrially manufacture new photovoltaic building components
with thin film technology
- Product synergies
of photovoltaics with building technology, both for the building envelope
as well as for building energy technology (e.g. fuel cells) with the
goal of new solutions for the optimisation of energy production and
use in buildings
|
|
| |
|
| |
|
Objectives
in the area of electric system technology:
- New system components
for grid-connected, stand-alone and hybrid photovoltaic systems with
the goal of integrated product solutions for the combined grid, island
and hybrid operation of photovoltaic systems
- Decentralised energy
production systems, energy storage and energy use with the goal of active
control of the energy use
|
|
Objectives
in the area of accompanying topics:
- Planning tools
- Environmental aspects
of photovoltaics
- Combined usage
forms of photovoltaics
|
|
Objectives
in the area of international institutional cooperation:
- Co-operation within
Europe
- Optimally gather
experience from international photovoltaics programmes - IEA-collaboration
- Creation of international
guidelines and norms
- Development cooperation
|
|
| |
|
| |
|
The
photovoltaic programme also covers the following additional measures:
- Quality assurance
- Guidelines and
norms
- Strategies of market
development
- Informative activities
(publications, events, Internet, etc.)
